As reported by Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal , this workout was conducted by the Grizzlies star’s father, Tee, along with trainers Trey Draper and Jonathan Thomas. The Memphis Grizzlies are looking to put a disappointing, injury-plagued 2023-24 season behind them, and what better way to do that than by bringing star center Ja Morant back in charge of the offense? But Morant’s return isn’t the only reason for Grizzlies fans to be excited. They’ll also have the services of 2024 Naismith College Basketball Player of the Year Zach Edey, who will presumably be their starting center next season. Memphis Grizzlies fans finally got their first look at the duo that many have been anticipating. Grizzlies guard Ja Morant shared a photo and video of himself working out with rookie center Zach Edey. This is the first time clips of Morant and Edey working out together have surfaced. The two were at the basketball facilities of Southern Methodist University. Morant shared on his Instagram account that Edey gave him a screen and then rolled to the basket for a lob dunk. Ziaire Williams on his role: Definitely versatility on defense, starting with switching from one to four, guarding guards, guarding forwards. On offense, pushing the tempo, being a lob threat, shooting three-pointers, cutting. I feel like I could definitely be a Swiss Army knife, just being utilized in different areas. And for me personally, I just love being on the court, man.
