Young man died in horror crash on N2 near Witteklip

A horrific accident claimed the life of a 25-year-old man on Saturday when his Volkswagen Polo crashed into the back of a truck on the N2 near Witteklip.

Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says that the driver of a Mercedez truck was driving on the N2 in the Woodridge/Witteklip area towards Gqeberha when he heard a loud noise in the back of his truck.

The truck driver stopped and saw the front part of a Polo lying under the truck.

The motorist was pronounced dead at the scene and no one else was injured.

Captain Janse van Rensburg says a case of culpable homicide is being investigated at the Kabega Park police station.

She says the body still needs to be identified before his name can be released.
