Yankees News: The Yankee bullpen has been historically good in the ALDS

MLB | Bryan Hoch: This won’t come as a surprise to anyone who watched the Yankees play Kansas City, but New York’s bullpen was astonishingly good. Historically speaking, actually. Their 15.2 innings without an earned run in the series is the third-most such innings in a single playoff series. Hoch discusses how skipper Aaron Boone managed and deployed his relievers. Left unsaid is how nice it is to get to Game 4 and give these guys some rest as they get ready for Cleveland.

MLB | Brent Maguire: Speaking of Cleveland, Maguire looks at five possible x-factors for the Yankees in the upcoming ALCS. Three of the names are players who performed exceptionally well against Kansas City, while the other two were scuffles against the Royals. Top of the list? Giancarlo Stanton, who again clinched the playoffs for the Yankees. I hope he has more where that came from.

ESPN: With the field ready, enter two of ESPN’s top baseball writers, Jeff Passan and David Schoenfield. The two discuss the most surprising events for the Yankees so far, what needs to happen for the Bronx Bombers to continue. and identify the players most crucial to the Yanks’ return to the World Series for the first time in 15 years.

The athletic | Tyler Kepner ($): We know the Final Four. It’s not hard to think of every World Series possibility. Kepner decided to rank them from most interesting to least interesting. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the two remaining NL teams, the Yankees are in the top two most interesting possibilities. At two o’clock: the Subway Series, which would be only the second time the Yankees and Mets faced each other in the playoffs. First, reliving a historic rivalry between the Dodgers, made even more exciting by the presence of each league’s presumptive MVP, both of whom would be making their debuts in the Fall Classic.
