Xbox Game Pass Standard Tier doesn’t include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Starfield, Diablo 4, and more

Xbox Game Pass Standard, Microsoft’s new basic subscription that costs $14.99 per month, doesn’t include access to big games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Starfield, Diablo 4 and many more.

Microsoft announced the revised Game Pass tiers in July, and as of September 12, the changes have been rolling out. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has increased from $16.99 to $19.99 per month and still includes all the usual perks, but the Xbox Game Pass Standard tier is quite a bit different than its predecessor.

It replaces Game Pass for Console (though those already subscribed won’t need to upgrade) and includes significantly fewer benefits. Subscribers will lose access to day one titles, or access to EA Play, Xbox Cloud Gaming, benefits, quests, and discounts on games in the Game Pass library. Microsoft said players would also lose access to “select entries in the Game Pass Ultimate library,” and that list has now been revealed to be quite extensive.

A total of 41 games are now available via Game Pass Ultimate for new subscribers, including the aforementioned Modern Warfare 3, Starfield, and Diablo 4, as well as Forza Motorsport, MLB: The Show 24, Octopath Traveler 2, Payday 3, Age of Mythology: Retold, and more. Players who subscribe to Game Pass Standard will therefore have access to 370 games instead of 508, according to the Xbox website. The remaining 96 titles belong to the EA Play library, which is not included in Xbox Game Pass Standard. Players who want access to this additional library of heavyweights will have to pay $19.99 per month for Ultimate instead of $14.99 per month for Standard.

Xbox Game Pass launched in 2017 for just $9.99 per month, with all features included. By 2024, however, it will have significantly more games, giving you access to titles from Bethesda and Activision Blizzard, such as Starfield and the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
