It was previously reported that Rhea Ripley was not scheduled to match at SummerSlam 2024 due to the extent of her injury. In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that WWE has positive sources about having plans for the former champion to rejoin the WWE when she is ready, even in a non-wrestling role for the early August PLE,

“There were reports that Rhea Ripley was not scheduled for WWE SummerSlam. However, WWE sources indicated that they have put things in place so that Ripley can step in and return to the program when she is ready, even in a non-wrestling capacity.”
