AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday announced a “groundbreaking partnership” with 2K for WWE 2K24.

“Partnering with WWE 2K is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with our fans in a new and innovative way,” said Commercial Director Rob Mitchell. “This partnership will combine the excitement of WWE 2K’s gameplay with the dynamic world of Premier League football.”

The details of the partnership are unclear. The Premier League club said that “AFC Bournemouth-themed content will be available in the coming weeks.”

For WWE, this is a new step into the mainstream. Last fall, the company partnered with the Big 12 ahead of the conference championship game, and the partnership has gone beyond that.

WWE has now gained a foothold in one of the most popular leagues in the sports world.

Bournemouth were promoted back to the Premier League for the 2022-23 season, remaining in 15th place. Although the Cherries started slowly under manager Andoni Iraola in 2023-24, they eventually found their form and finished the season in 12th place.

Bournemouth drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest in the season opener thanks to a late goal from Antoine Semenyo.
