When you hit a wall, Black Myth: Wukong due to the endless annoyance of Captain Wise-Voice, the latest patch is here to save you. On top of a bunch of general fixes for the action RPG for both computer and PlayStation 5 players, the recently released patch1.08.14860 gives the Yaoguai King a nerf.

The patch, which released on August 29, will take up roughly 1.6GB of space on your storage, which isn’t a lot considering the game already takes up 130GB on PC and 104GB on PS5. Among other quality of life updates, the latest patch’s unique balance fix targets boss Captain Wise-Voice, a required enemy you’ll have to defeat in Chapter 3 of the game. As a boss who’s not only extremely resistant to damage, but also one who can pack some big hits himself with a plethora of surprising attack patterns, Captain Wise-Voice is no wimp. While the patch notes don’t detail exactly what changes have been made, they do explain that the boss’s stats have been “slightly reduced,” hopefully giving you a better chance of finally progressing.

Less exciting, but just as crucial, are the numerous crash fixes that the new patch brings with it. Black Myth: Wukong. That includes preventing crashes with AMD’s Fidelity FX Super Resolution, and enabling NVIDIA Full Ray Tracing in certain areas of the Webbed Hollow area. The full list of notes also includes smaller patches for minor bugs in the game, such as characters freezing or getting stuck in walls.
