Wu-Tang Clan Performs at New York Fashion Week’s Tommy Hilfiger Show

Members of American hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan shone brightly at New York Fashion Week on Sunday, closing the Tommy Hilfiger show with a dazzling performance aboard a ferry.

As the show came to a close, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Raekwon jumped from the audience benches to perform one of the group’s most famous songs, CREAM

The show took place aboard one of New York’s bright orange ferries that typically carry passengers between Manhattan and Staten Island, where the Wu-Tang Clan was formed in the early 1990s.

The American designer chose the setting to revisit “the nautical and maritime inspirations that have defined our signature look since 1985,” according to the notes accompanying the spring 2025 collection.

Models strutted down the catwalk in a show of casual, sporty outfits featuring sailor stripes and regatta jackets, with Olympic 200m champion Gabby Thomas and gymnast Sunisa Lee among the crowd.

Tommy Hilfiger, which is soon to celebrate its 40th anniversary, has long been associated with a preppy style, but was widely worn by hip-hop artists in the ’90s and 2000s.

Questlove, drummer for the hip-hop group The Roots, also DJed for Tommy Hilfiger’s show on Sunday.

The ship “John F. Kennedy” on which the show took place was docked in Manhattan on Sunday.

After 60 years of service, it was bought from the city by two comedians from the American cult series “Saturday Night Live”, Colin Jost and Pete Davidson, also from Staten Island, who transformed it into an entertainment space. (AFP)
