Woman survives shooting in her Florence home; family member charged

A man will be charged Tuesday with armed assault with intent to commit murder after he allegedly shot a woman in the stomach at a Florence home.

The 50-year-old woman was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield Sunday morning and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office said.

Family members were involved in the incident.
