After the City Edition Nike jerseys for the 2024-25 season leaked early Tuesday night, one NBA team decided to take matters into their own hands.

The Washington Wizards took to social media to investigate the leaks and provided a better look at their City Edition jerseys:

On Tuesday evening, a photo leaked on social media revealed the City Edition shirts of all 30 teams for the 2024-2025 season:

The Wizards jersey has “District of Columbia” on the front, but little else. The words also appeared on Washington’s 2023-24 City Edition jerseys and are similarly stylized. Last year’s color scheme was black, orange, and green, while this year’s takes a more subdued approach with a black-and-white base.

The NBA has typically unveiled the City Edition jerseys in November to generate some early-season excitement. Last year, the jerseys were worn during the league’s first in-season tournament, in an effort to differentiate between regular-season and tournament play.

In a press release last season, the NBA stated that the uniforms “represent the stories, history and heritage that make each franchise unique, and honor the inherent bond between the court, community and culture.”

The Wizards are coming off their worst season in franchise history after posting a 15-67 record. The team went 0-12 in February, becoming the 15th team in league history to record a winless month.

The Wizards acquired veteran point guard Malcolm Brogdon from the Portland Trail Blazers in July and selected forward Alex Sarr with the second pick in the 2024 NBA draft, hoping to make more progress in their rebuild during the 2024-25 season.
