Sports galore: a multi-million pound sports centre opened this week, featuring cycling facilities that can be used for competitions, a floodlit 3G pitch and a BMX track.

It was promised to offer sports and recreation for all ages and to introduce new activities later in the day during an Open Family Day.

A moment in time: A ceremony was held at Silverwood School in Rowde where a time capsule containing objects and letters from the children was buried.

A new £38.5 million campus is being built at the school, featuring a two-storey teaching building with a hydrotherapy pool, a new all-weather sports pitch, playing fields and car parking.

The old location is closed during the Covid pandemic.

The exhibition explores the history of the Wiltshire town up to the modern day and showcases its large collection of modern art.

Due to rationing during the war, bakers had to be creative and use alternative ingredients such as vinegar.

Just in time: 12-year-old Maisy from Swindon raised over £1,000 with a charity shave.

She decided to support the Wiltshire Air Ambulance after her grandmother Julie suffered a cardiac arrest at home on May 30.

They want the 44-acre site protected from future housing. They held up signs on Sunday that read “children need nature” and “keep the golf course wild.”
