Willcox Posts Another Shutout Victory Behind Macumber in Little League Softball West Regional

Willcox advanced to the final winners bracket of the Little League Softball West Regional in San Bernardino, California, after Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Hawaii, thanks to another outstanding pitching performance by Hattie Macumber.

Macumber allowed one hit, struck out 10 and walked one in her complete-game effort. It follows her three-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and one walk in a 2-0 win over Nevada on Saturday.

Macumber threw 96 pitches in the game against Hawaii, 70 of which were strikes.

Josey Benavides And Daglin Medrano Both teams had RBI singles for Willcox, which plays Northern California in the winner’s game finale on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN-Plus.

The championship game is Friday at 5:45 p.m. on ESPN. There is no “if needed” game if the winning bracket team loses in the championship game.

The winner of the West Regional advances to the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, NC from August 4-11.
