Will the Chargers star play against the Cardinals today?

Los Angeles Chargers star Joey Bosa was a question mark ahead of Monday night’s Week 7 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Bosa’s latest injury situation has some fans irked as it appeared he was closing in on a return this week before head coach Jim Harbaugh suggested otherwise. Initially he struggled with a hip injury.

After that, Bosa finished as doubtful on the final injury report earlier Monday night football in Arizona.

Bosa was questionable on the final injury report, with Harbaugh saying the star defenseman was “still working through something,” according to Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the Los Angeles Times.

At this point it’s hard to say. Bosa aggravated the hip injury in Week 3. Harbaugh’s quotes (they’re all similar at this point) don’t even specify that the hip is involved anymore. He practiced on a limited basis on the Friday before Week 6, leading fans to believe this week would be an uptick before returning. But the team remains vague.

More pass-rushing opportunities for starters like Tuli Tuipulotu, while Khalil Mack obviously carries most of the load. The Chargers defense has had no trouble being elite under new coordinator Jesse Minter, with or without Bosa.

The long-term perspective could be more interesting. The Chargers seemed to prefer Bosa’s big contract over veteran receivers and the like last summer. He hasn’t played more than nine games in a season since 2021, so this could be his last year with the Chargers.
