Will Nasreddine Nabi miss Kaizer Chiefs’ European trip?

Imperial leaders could still take a big hit with the incoming coach Nasreddine Nabi in danger of missing their pre-season tour.

It is no secret at this point that Chiefs will announce Nabi as their new coach next season.

The Chiefs selected their man at the end of May and moved full steam ahead to secure his signature. After traveling to Morocco to convince Nabi of the project and giving him the freedom to choose his technical team. They were then able to make an agreement AS FAR for the early release of the Tunisian. Then the next agreement was with the coach himself.

Throne Cup finals to take place in early July

The agreement included allowing Nabi to stay until the Throne Cup semi-final, which took place last Sunday. The initial expectation was that he would then leave and join the Chiefs regardless of the outcome. It then came as a shock when he turned up at the post-match press conference to claim he would be staying. He claimed the job wasn’t done yet and he wanted to lead AS FAR to the Throne Cup final.

Initially the final was set for July 1, the day on which King Mohammed V‘s mother sparked speculation about a delay. But now according to the Moroccan FAthe final will be played tomorrow.

That should be good news for Chiefs, as a delay caused by a period of mourning would mean Nabi would arrive at Naturena even later. He is now on track to be present and unveiled in early July. However, that could still pose a problem for the coach and Amakhosi in terms of their pre-season logistics.

The Chiefs leave for Turkey on July 4

According to reports, Chiefs are looking to visit Turkey and other European countries during this pre-season. This trip is scheduled for early July. Nabi will be in charge of his last match as AS FAR coach on the first of the month. He might get some time to cool down after a long season. That period could then coincide with the tour. Alternatively, he could catch up with the team halfway through the tour.
