Will Justin Brownlee join ANTA Philippines?

Justin Brownlee could be the new face of ANTA Philippines.

The decorated PBA import brand is in talks with the local branch of the Chinese sports brand to become one of the ambassadors, sources have told Tiebreaker Times.

That explains why he is wearing the Kai 1 ‘Triple Black’ during the ongoing Indonesia Basketball League (IBL) 2024 Playoffs with Pelita Jaya Jakarta.

It was hard not to notice, as “JB” has been wearing various Nike and Jordan models since arriving in the Philippines in 2016.

But sooner or later, the Gilas Pilipinas star could be seen wearing ANTA gear exclusively as he potentially signs his first major sneaker deal.

If talks are completed and Brownlee signs, he would likely be ANTA Philippines’ biggest signing to date.

He could be the leader of their group of local sponsors, which includes veteran basketball players like Poy Erram and fencer Maxine Esteban, to name a few.

Brownlee’s involvement couldn’t have been more strategic from a marketing perspective, with the brand also serving as the official shoe of Asia’s premier professional league.

To begin with, ANTA Philippines and the PBA announced last February that they have entered into a three-year agreement, with both parties interested in extending the agreement.

So what better way for the company to strengthen its commitment to the league than by signing one of the best players of all time to represent the brand.
