Why Gleb Savchenko Ended Brooks Nader Romance Through Text Message

Gleb Savchenko isn’t dancing around his decision to end his romance with Brooks Nader.

The Dancing With the Stars pro explained his controversial breakup method, saying that putting his thoughts into words made it easier for him to convey his message to his former dance partner.

“There’s a lot of things,” Gleb told TooFab at the inaugural Gurus Awards Nov. 12. “Sometimes you can be mixed up in a conversation. So I always like to write everything down.”

He added, “When I wrote that down, it felt like it was perfect, because the moment you start a conversation, you might get lost, so it’s better to just write it down.”

The 41-year-old also revealed that he has not been in contact with the Sports Illustrated model since their split.

“We haven’t spoken,” he shared. “I really actually do miss her because she’s the vibe. She’s a really cool person. And I had the best time. When you asked me if I had the best time on the season, absolutely. This is one of my best seasons.”

Gleb went on to gush about the 28-year-old and the good times they shared on DWTS until their Oct. 15 elimination.

“Brooke is super talented and we had a lot of fun,” he said. “Life happens, and I do miss her a lot.”

The dancer first confirmed rumors that he’d broken up with Brooks over text message earlier this month in which he dispelled TikTok rumors that they were “trolling” fans by saying they’d split but still filming content in what appeared to be the same house.

“It’s not the same place,” Gleb said in a Nov. 4 TikTok posted by fellow DWTS pro Ezra Sosa. “Totally different house. Look, that plant—I’ve never seen that plant before.”

He continued, “Brooks, if you’re watching, I miss you.”

Rylee Arnold, another DWTS pro also in the clip, pushed back, though, saying, “You were the one who texted her, Gleb! You were the one who ended it,” to which Gleb replied, “I did.”

Brooks first hinted at the end of their romance in an Oct. 24 TikTok that she captioned, “When he’s breaking up with me but I never knew we were dating.”

The video reflected just how coy she played it during their time together.

“We’re just having fun honestly,” Brooks told E! News in September, “and living our life.”

Gleb separately echoed those sentiments, pointing out that it’s natural for dance partners to connect on a deeper level.

“Listen, when you rehearse together for such long hours and days, you create a certain chemistry,” he told E!. “Especially when we dance together it’s there. We’re trying to get into character pretty much.”
