When Sean Kanan was cast as bad boy Mike Barnes Karate Kid III, he already had the martial arts skills necessary to take on the role. The Bold and beautiful actor recently revealed that he added a purposeful cosmetic look to his appearance to give Mike an intimidating touch to Ralph Macchio’s Daniel.

“I made a conscious decision to cut my hair like Drago,” Kanan revealed on social media in response to a poster that showed photos of Kanan’s Mike Barnes and Lundgren’s Ivan Drago side by side. “I was and still am a big fan of it Rocky IV And @Dolph_Lundgren #CobraKai #MikeBarnes.”

The original poster, COBRA KAI & MIYAGI FANG OFFICAL, featured photos of the two characters side by side on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the comment: “Both are both aggressive and both have the same hairstyle.”

Kanan’s tribute to Drago earned the actor an admirer of his own. “Bro, I purposely cut my hair in high school to look like yours. I never told you that, but I did,” Daniel LaMontagne posted, along with a photo from his high school yearbook.
