Euro 2024: which matches are on Sunday 24 June?

With Saturday marking the end of the three-match days of the tournament, today both Group B matches start at 9pm local time in Germany. That’s 3pm ET and 12pm PT. The games – Albania vs Spain and Croatia vs Italy – are played simultaneously to prevent one team from gaining an unfair advantage. Here’s what it looks like.

As group winners, Spain has already advanced to the eighth finals. They will face one of the best third-placed teams from groups A, D, E or F.

Italy will secure second place in the group if they do not lose to Croatia. However, if Italy loses to Croatia and Albania beats Spain, Italy cannot progress automatically and will have to rely on other results and tiebreaks to progress.

Albania qualifies as the second-place team if it beats Spain and Croatia beats Italy. In the event of a tie on points, tiebreakers come into play. If Albania loses or draws against Spain and Croatia wins, Albania cannot advance to the round of 16.

Croatia will move up as the second-placed team if they beat Italy and Albania don’t beat Spain. If Albania also wins, the tiebreaks will determine second and third places. Croatia will not progress if it draws or loses, and Albania will secure at least a point against Spain.
