Where to Get Yaogaui Cores in Black Myth: Wukong – Destructoid

Yaogaui cores are essential for upgrading weapons in Black Myth: Wukong. If you’re looking for power-ups but aren’t sure where to find them anymore, here’s everything you need to know about how to get them.

How to get Yaogaui cores in Black Myth: Wukong

You probably already have some in your inventory, but to get more Yaogaui Cores, all you need to do is: Kill Yaogaui. Almost all of the enemies you encounter in Black Myth: Wukong are of Yaogaui origin, meaning your natural progression through the game will earn you some of them.

Yaogaui cores are a rare resource dropas indicated by their rarity (blue), meaning you probably won’t see one after every kill. Lowly Yaogaui, like the zombies around Yellow Wind Ridge, have the lowest chance of giving you Yaogaui Cores because they are weak. The best way to get them en masse is to kill stronger, elite YaogauiIn general, the stronger the Yaogaui you purge, the more likely it is to drop a Yaogaui Core upon death.

Yaoguai Cores can also be obtained randomly by looting chests, breaking vases, and purchasing from the shop for 900 Will. I really don’t recommend wasting Will on these, as they can be farmed quite easily with a bit of time and dedication. However, if you’re desperate and need them right away for that next big weapon upgrade, this is definitely a viable option.

As I said, you can get Yaogaui Cores from almost all enemies in the game, so even if you don’t take the time to collect them, you’ll undoubtedly get them naturally over time.
