Where Tampa Bay Buccaneers draft RB Rachaad White

The Buccaneers selected RB Rachaad White in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. He took over the lead role in Tampa Bay’s backfield last season, touching the ball over 330 times. However, his efficiency wasn’t what you’d want from a workhorse, with just 3.6 yards per carry. Here’s a look Rachaad White’s Average Draft Position (ADP) for Fantasy Football in 2024 and Where You Should Draft Him.

White is entering his third season with the Buccaneers under coach Todd Bowles and new OC Liam Coen. The Bucs are expected to take a slight step back, as bookmakers are projecting him at 7.5 wins. The 25-year-old White should be in his prime as a running back, but with the arrival of rookie RB Bucky Irving, the competition for touches could be fierce. Still, White remains a key part of Tampa Bay’s offense in 2024.

White’s 29.21 ADP puts him in the 3rd-4th round range, depending on the size of the league. He has the Buccaneers’ best ADP, a few slots ahead of WR Mike Evans (31.61).

Among all NFL running backs, White’s ADP ranks him 12th at the position, trailing Miami’s De’Von Achane (28.13), Kansas City’s Isiah Pacheco (22.27) and Baltimore’s Derrick Henry (20.23). Seattle’s Kenneth Walker III (31.10) and Green Bay’s Josh Jacobs (33.61) rank 13th and 14th, respectively.

Where should you position White?

White had a stellar season last year, with over 1,500 scrimmage yards and 9 TDs. He finished 4th in fantasy points among running backs, thanks in part to a stellar 91.4% catch rate — best in the league among players with 50+ catches.

White averaged nearly 20 touches per game and continued to improve as the season progressed. After a slow start, he averaged 100.1 scrimmage yards and scored eight times in his last 10 games. From Weeks 8-16, he was on fire, averaging 19.7 fantasy points per game.

Despite this strong showing, he currently sits second in the fantasy rankings. Some experts doubt he can keep up, as QB Baker Mayfield becomes more familiar with WRs Evans and Chris Godwin. However, given White’s solid finishing and role in the offense, he could still be a great fantasy pick for the upcoming season.
