Last Saturday at UFC Saudi Arabia, the main card kicked off with a matchup between two top ten light heavyweight prospects. Former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir (20-7) looked to win his second straight fight when he took on top contender Johnny Walker (21-9), who was looking to bounce back from a recent loss.

With the style of both fighters, I really didn’t expect this fight to get this far. From the opening bell, it was very clear that one man was in control of things in the octagon. That man was Volkan Oezdemir. Oezdemir immediately came out with a lot of pressure on Johnny Walker.

Walker is really good when he can keep his distance and execute his wide range of attacks. However, he really struggled to keep Oezdemir away from him. Oezdemir kept cutting him off and he was landing big combinations. In the end, Oezdemir hurt Walker badly.

Ran through a flying knee and tried to gain some distance but Oezdemir walked through it. Oezdemir cut him off against the fence and landed a nasty uppercut that dropped Walker. Walker was out and Oezdemir blasted him with another disgusting shot right in the chin that knocked him out cold and gave Oezdemir the huge win over UFC Saudi Arabia.
