What is he going to do now?

Dustin Johnson is another name who left the PGA Tour two years ago to join LIV Golf. His decision surprised many, but Johnson was clear about his stance and intentions to be part of this Saudi Arabian-backed Tour. Currently, Johnson is performing well on this Tour and is proving to be a tough opponent for many. The 4Aces team, led by Johnson, has serious plans for the future and DJ could be a crucial element in the whole strategy as captain.

General Manager of 4Aces Chris Rosaassen recently spoke with Bunkered about Dustin Johnson and the rumors that have been circulating lately about Johnson possibly leaving the Tour and changing his plans. Rosaasen emphasized that Dustin Johnson is a golfer who has no intention of making such moves and stated that he will remain in this role for at least the next 15 years.

“DJ is a captain and owner of the team, so his name will theoretically be associated with this team forever, but he wouldn’t deny it. I don’t think he’ll be playing in 15 years.“- he said.

LIV Golf officials have shown their seriousness about their intentions by introducing innovations to the golf world and implementing a system that has generated positive reactions. LIV Golf wants to show the world that they are ready to usher in a new era in the sport, by capturing the attention of both younger and older golf fans. Although some are skeptical about the value of these new developments, LIV Golf leaders remain committed to their path.

Rosaasen stressed that he and Johnson plan to innovate by scouting young golfers who will form the foundation of the 4Aces team in the future. Johnson has taken his role and responsibilities seriously and has left nothing to chance.

“He and I sat down and said, ‘How are we going to lay the foundation for what this team is? ’ The idea is even to scout kids who can play on this team in 5-10 years.“, he said.

Rosaasen emphasized that they plan to set a budget for the coming year to create something similar to a minor league for the 4Aces. This will be a great opportunity for young golfers to showcase their talent and make a significant appearance on the big stage. They want to attract young talent to join them and also inspire and motivate children to train in the sport. The 4Aces want to set up a system where the best golfers get the chance to prove themselves and play for the team.

“We’re working on the budget for next year to outfit these guys, so it’s almost like the minor leagues for 4Aces. So we reach out to these guys that we think could be good and then it’s like, ‘Hey, why don’t we sponsor you guys now? ‘ Wear the 4aces kit in all your other leagues and we’ll start you guys off early.”– he continued.

He said they will be visiting high schools and expressing their amazement at how young golfers are coming up and how talented they are. Many golfers today are rising to prominence and gaining recognition in a short period of time. They believe it is crucial to engage with golfers when they are relatively young and work closely with them. This system ensures that golfers are developed in the right way from a young age, allowing them to reach their full potential. Johnson and his team are experienced figures who understand what is crucial to do to make a golfer a star who will lead in the future.

Dustin recently responded to rumors of possible compensation for PGA Tour players if LIV Golfers were to return to the PGA Tour. Johnson believes that LIV Golfers, who have been criticized and have put everything on the line, should not be expected to compensate PGA Tour players. He commented on the possibility of a merger, suggesting that many might regret not signing with LIV if such a merger were to happen.

As for the merger, it is still unclear how the negotiations will go and whether a final agreement will be reached. However, there is hope that both parties will find a compromise, recognize the importance of adapting to each other’s needs and come to a final agreement. In the coming months, we may get answers about what will happen next.
