What is Alex de Minaur’s best performance at Wimbledon?

Alex de Minaur is currently enjoying his best performance ever at Wimbledon, reaching the quarterfinals after beating Frenchman Arthur Fils in the round of 16.

His best performance to date came at the 2022 tournament, where he reached the fourth round before being surprisingly defeated by Chile’s Cristian Garin.

On his way to the quarter-finals this year, he defeated fellow countryman James Duckworth and Spaniard Jaume Munar, and also secured a big win over Lucas Pouille in the third round.

He faces a huge challenge: seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic stands between him and his first ever Grand Slam semi-final.

Alex de Minaur’s Wimbledon performances have been somewhat disappointing so far, with him often being knocked out in the first rounds in his six finals.

After failing to qualify in 2017, he made his first real appearance in 2018, reaching the third round but being defeated by then world number two Rafa Nadal.

He failed to build on this, losing in the second round in 2019 and failing to win a single match in 2021.
