WestJet cancels flights due to possible mechanics union strike.

The Calgary-based airline said in a statement that the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association has issued them another notice of strike action.

As a result, WestJet said it preemptively canceled 25 flights between Thursday and Friday, affecting around 3,300 customers.

This comes as the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association accuses WestJet of suing the company without notifying negotiators who are working with the airline to hammer out a new collective bargaining agreement.
