RIZIN has released a trailer for the highly anticipated debut of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao at Super RIZIN 3 later this month.

Boxing News: Manny Pacquiao’s Next Fight Announced: Japanese MMA Champion

Japan’s top MMA promotion has consistently looked for unique ways to capture the attention of fans in recent years, and the news that “Pac Man” would follow in the footsteps of his former opponent Floyd Mayweather Jr. and enter the RIZIN ring immediately caused a stir in the fight world.

RIZIN has released a new trailer for Pacquiao’s promotional debut. While it doesn’t detail the “special rules for standing fights”, the trailer does confirm reports that the 45-year-old has a new opponent in the form of Rukiya Anpo.

Pacquiao was originally scheduled to face reigning RIZIN featherweight champion Chihiro Suzuki, who defended his title at RIZIN 46 earlier this year, but he ended up drawing with MMA legend Takanori Gomi in a modified rules bout last month.

No explanation has yet been given for the opponent change, but β€œPac Man” will now enter the RIZIN ring against a decorated striker in Anpo, who has extensive kickboxing experience and is a former K-1 world champion.

Super RIZIN 3 takes place on July 28 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. It also features a main event between Mikuru Asakura and Ren Hiramoto, and former UFC title contender John Dodson takes on Takaki Soya in a bare-knuckle boxing match.
