Watch live as Pennsylvania commemorates the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks at Flight 93 National Memorial

Watch live from the ceremony held in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, to honor the victims of hijacked Flight 93, which crashed into an open field on September 11, 2001.

U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will mark the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks on Wednesday by visiting each of the three sites where hijacked planes crashed in 2001, killing nearly 3,000 people.

The pair first visit the site in New York City where planes shot down the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

Vice President Harris, now the Democratic presidential nominee, was scheduled to travel to New York after debating Republican rival Donald Trump in Philadelphia on Tuesday night. There are only eight weeks left until the November 5 presidential election.

There are no gatherings planned at the location where relatives will read the names of the deceased.

Former President Trump said he and his running mate JD Vance will also attend the ceremony in New York City.

President Biden and Mrs. Harris will then fly to Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where passengers on United Flight 93 overpowered the hijackers and the plane crashed into a field, missing another target.

Then they head back to the Washington area to visit the Pentagon memorial.
