Moose Jaw, Sask. – The Moose Jaw Warriors made one selection in the 2024 CHL Import Draft on Wednesday.

The Warriors added Czech forward Dominik Pavlík to the 53rd roster.

“We’re getting a forward who can really skate, who’s tough, who’s very skilled and who plays in the midfield. That’s good for our 2007 group and will complement it,” Warriors general manager Jason Ripplinger said.

Pavlík played for the Finnish Kärpät Oulu U18 team last season, where he scored 21 goals and 34 points in 39 games.

The 1.85-meter, 85-kilogram forward also represented the Czech Republic at the 2023 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, where he scored two goals and three points in eight games.

In total, he played 26 games for the Czech U17 team, scoring nine goals and twenty points last season.

“The direction we’re going as an organization, we’re trying to build around our 06s, 07s and 08s, so adding him as a power forward will help us,” Ripplinger said.

The Warriors passed up their second-round pick in the CHL Import Draft, as 19-year-old defenseman Vojtech Port returned for the 2024-25 season.
