Warriors interested in Jimmy Butler

NBA insider Sam Amick discussed the Golden State Warriors on a recent episode of The TK Show. Amick noted that the Warriors are interested in Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat.

“Jimmy Butler is going to be a free agent next summer. Didn’t get an extension. The Warriors are interested and probably made some calls this summer,” Amick said of Golden State and Butler.

Butler reportedly sought an extension from Miami this summer. The veteran wing is on the Heat’s books for $48.8 million this season. Butler has a $52.4 million player option for the 2025-26 season.

The Warriors lost significant salary when Klay Thompson and Chris Paul left the team this offseason. Golden State briefly had a tax hit this summer and is now just below its first tax break. The team expects to be in a similar situation next offseason. The Warriors have multiple contracts that they could combine in a potential trade for Butler.
