Spiritual leader and founder of Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir Jagadguru Kripalu Maharaj’s eldest daughter Vishakha Tripathi was killed in a road accident on Yamuna Expressway in Noida on Sunday. Tripathi, 75, was traveling to Delhi from Vrindavan via the Yamuna Expressway along with her two younger sisters and five others. All of them were traveling in two cars and were going to Singapore from Delhi, PTI reported quoting police.

A gallop rider hit both cars in the Dankaur area on Sunday morning, injuring eight people, including Maharaj’s three daughters, a police spokesperson said. They were admitted to hospitals in Noida and Delhi for treatment, where Tripathi died. Her sisters, Krishna Tripathi and Shyama Tripathi, were admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi and are said to be in critical condition, a police spokesperson said.

The police have sent the body for post-mortem. Her body was taken to Prem Mandir in Vrindavan and kept there for the devotees to pay their respects. Tripathi’s last rites will be performed on the banks of Yamuna on Monday.
