Trump supporters gather on Taunton Green after shooting

About a dozen people gathered on Taunton Green on Sunday afternoon, holding signs and flags in support of former President Donald Trump, a day after he shot his right ear in an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.

A supporter of the demonstration was shot dead; two others were seriously injured.

Taunton’s Flatiron Building is being transformed into luxury condos with penthouse views

Veteran Taunton firefighter Bob Bastis is investing $1.5 million to create three luxury apartments, including a top-floor “penthouse,” in the city’s Flatiron building at the corner of Winthrop and Cohannet Streets.

New addiction support center helps people achieve long-term recovery

The Taunton Peer Recovery Support Center, which opened in mid-May, provides support and services for people on the path to addiction or those trying to recover from addiction.

“We haven’t really had a treatment center like this here. It fills a need in the community,” said Beth Burnham, a recovering addict for the past 15 years and a member of the center.

Located at 1 Washington St. in Taunton, around the corner from WOW! Work Out World and Lavender Laundromat, the Peer Recovery Support Center takes a casual yet compassionate approach to limiting relapses and helping people achieve long-term recovery.
