Vita Vea out with knee injury

The Buccaneers continue to struggle with injuries on the defensive line, and will lose a key player in their game against the Detroit Lions. Defensive tackle Vita Vea has been ruled out for the rest of the match with a knee injury.

The loss of Vea means the Bucs are now without three starting defensive linemen. They entered the game shorthanded due to injuries to Logan Hall and Calijah Kancey, both of whom missed last week’s game against the Lions and Commanders.

The Bucs entered Week 2 without the aforementioned players, having to sign Mike Greene and C.J. Brewer from the practice squad. Tampa Bay was also without All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr., who could miss multiple games with an ankle injury.

We expect to learn the significance of the injury later Sunday, early Monday, and will provide an update as soon as the team provides one to the public.
