Footage has emerged of Vincent Kompany’s brutal dressing room tirade towards his Anderlecht players, with Manchester City fans in raptures as they realised the Belgian manager had targeted a new United player.

In the clip, which was made after his team conceded the equaliser in the last minute in Sint-Truiden in October 2021 to draw 2-2, the manager can be seen showing the team ‘one f***ing side of (him) that (they) haven’t f***ing seen yet’.

Firstly, Kompany aggressively reminds central defender Wesley Hoedt that it is his decision whether they play with ‘four, five or six’ men at the back, while the other members of the team look on in shock.

He tells the Dutchman that he will ‘take responsibility’ if Anderlecht ‘loses or performs less well’ because of his tactics.

Kompany then launched a fierce attack on Man United’s new signing Joshua Zirkzee, much to the amusement of City supporters, who saw the Belgian hold up ten major trophies in a sky-blue shirt.

The current Bayern Munich manager says: ‘The second point, Zirk, is that last time I spoke about your attitude.

“Come on, I don’t need a fucking smile, but I do need an attitude that’s perfect.”

Almost shouting, Kompany adds: ‘You were not good, just like all the others.

‘I could have ridden from Hendrik (Van Crombrugge) to the last without complaining.

‘Today we deserved to lose anyway. We can be f***ing happy with one point.

’95 minutes we just wasted time. You wasted your time, I wasted mine. It was better not to come. It was better to send the under-21s.’

Zirkzee, who was on loan from Bayern Munich at the time, overcame the setback and finished the season with 15 goals and eight assists from 32 games.

This earned the Dutch striker a move to Bologna, where he struggled in the 2022-2023 season, but then scored 12 goals in 37 games in an impressive season.
