Vince McMahon Rejects Chris Benoit Murder Claims – TJR Wrestling

Vince McMahon has dismissed many of the leading theories related to gruesome murders carried out by ex-WWE star Chris Benoit.

The murders of Nancy and Daniel Benoit, followed by the suicide of Chris Benoit, rocked the world of wrestling. WWE was held under a microscope like very few times in its history as the media tried to find some sense in the seemingly senseless deaths.

Issues of steroid abuse and concussions quickly emerged in terms of possible reasons for Chris Benoit’s twisted actions, but almost twenty years after the events, Vince McMahon still seems unconvinced that they had their part to play.

In his Mr. McMahon Netflix documentary, McMahon discussed the end of Benoit’s life and dismissed any idea that his steroid use was involved:

There is no connection between taking steroids and what happened to Chris Benoit; people have flaws. Chris went crazy, it happens in every form of life, that’s the only thing I can take away from it.

Vince McMahon claims Chris Benoit’s move was a complete job

Former WWE star Christopher Nowinski then explained how Benoit’s brain was studied by doctors after his death, suggesting CTE played a role. Suffice it to say, the explanation didn’t sit well with Vince McMahon:

This doctor came up with the ridiculous statement, “Okay, this is why Chris Benoit did this.” There was some sort of trauma to his head and things were shown where Chris would dive off the rope and hit someone with the head. That is a complete work. It looks like there is damage, but there isn’t. We know what we are doing, we don’t hurt each other.

Christopher Nowinski explained how putting Benoit’s brain under a microscope clearly showed the effects of CTE, a disease he said can cause problems with emotions, behavior, disinhibition, aggression and depression.
