Video: VAR used in bizarre way as referee shows manager red card for his X-rated reaction on the touchline

A Brazilian football coach has been sent off the field for performing sexual acts on the sidelines.

The incident occurred when Ferreira reacted angrily to the referee’s decision and grabbed his crotch in a provocative manner, directed at referee Anderson Daronco.

Initially, the referee did not see the gesture, but VAR intervened and instructed Daronco to watch the incident on the pitchside monitor.

In a bizarre scene, replays showed Ferreira grabbing his crotch in slow motion, prompting the referee to show him a red card and the manager to be sent off.

Palmeiras eventually won the match 1–0, but lost the match 2–1 on aggregate, thus being eliminated in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brazil.
