The MTV Video Music Awards are usually about celebrating the most successful artists, but this year’s edition made sure to highlight a GOAT from a different arena.

Host Megan Thee Stallion called attention to fellow Texan gymnast Simone Biles during her opening monologue. The rapper wore an outfit inspired by the U.S. leotards for the 2024 Summer Olympics.

She added: “I deserve a gold medal for being such a bad b—h.”

Biles was already considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time before she went to Paris. At this year’s Summer Games, she added to her legacy by winning the individual all-around and vault events and helping the U.S. claim gold in the team event.

The shout-out to Megan Thee Stallion is a testament to Biles’ crossover success and her status as America’s sports queen.
