Vaz says the man who attacked the JUTC bus has been identified

Transport Minister Daryl Vaz says a man seen damaging a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus in a video widely circulated on social media has been identified and is wanted by police.

Vaz made the announcement in a response to X, formerly Twitter, after being tagged with a video of the perpetrator throwing an object at the bus. The suspect, probably a taxi operator, then used his vehicle to block the bus.

“The person in this video has been identified and the vehicle he is driving has also been identified,” Vaz wrote.

The attack reportedly took place last Wednesday along Old Hope Road in St. Andrew.

In the past, Vaz has condemned such acts as an attack on government property and warned that legislation should be sought to treat such acts as far more serious than simple stone-throwing incidents.
