UW golfers named All-America Scholars

LARAMIE, Wyo. — Five members of the University of Wyoming golf team were recently named to the Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars list by the Golf Coaches Association of America. The honorable mention goes to Patrick Azevedo, Jaren Calkins, Jimmy Dales, Kristof Panke and Davis Seybert.

Only 8% of the 297 NCAA Division I teams had five or more academics on the list, and in four of the last five years at least five of UW’s students received this honor.

“It’s a great feeling to have your five starters be All-American Scholars,” said UW head coach Joe Jensen. “The guys work hard, both on the court and in the classroom. I’m proud of this group and it’s part of our culture to be very successful in the classroom.”

Dales received the award for the third time in his career. Azevedo, Calkins and Panke won the award for the second time, while Seybert received the honor in his first season with the Brown and Gold.

Since the 2017 season, Wyoming has named four or more individuals as GCAA All-America Scholars in seven of those eight seasons — four in 2017, 2018 and 2022; five in 2020, 2021 and 2024; and a record six in 2023.
