US Open Honey Deuce cocktail brings in $10 million in sales

The US Open has one cocktail that is well on its way to becoming the combined prize money for both singles champions.

The cocktail, nicknamed “Honey Deuce,” is expected to be served more than 100,000 times. $10 million in sales before this year’s tournament ends on September 8. For comparison, the combined prize money for both singles winners is $7.2 million.

The cocktail is pricey. It costs $23, but customers can collectible souvenir cupAt least while supplies last. Made with Grey Goose vodka and topped with fresh lemonade, raspberry liqueur and a tennis ball-inspired honeydew garnish, the simple-homemade cocktail scores well at the US Open.

Since its debut in 2007, the Honey Deuce cocktail has grown from a niche offering to a standout feature of the international tournament. In 2023, more than 450,000 Honey Deuce cocktails were sold at the US OpenGrey Goose reported on its website that more than 2 million copies have been sold since 2011.

While the Honey Deuce cocktail is a hit with fans, this year’s event could also break another record: attendance.

Lew Sherr, CEO of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), told the Sport Business Journal (SBJ) that he “with confidence“This year’s three-week event is set to surpass the 1 million visitor mark, thanks to an extra day and more programming – proving that the only thing bigger than the popularity of Honey Deuce is the event itself.

Over the years, the signature drink has grown in popularity. In 2023, Grey Goose and the US Open said they would would extend their 17-year partnership.
