URGENT: Israel says it is carrying out airstrikes in Lebanon targeting Shiite militia Hezbollah

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel launched airstrikes in Lebanon early Sunday, targeting positions of the Shiite militia Hezbollah, the military said.

In a statement, the Israeli military accused Hezbollah of “preparing to fire rockets and missiles toward Israeli territory.”
