UP MBT provides help to young talents through FMBS

YOUNG talents will have a golden opportunity to witness first-hand the spirit of the UP Fight when the University of the Philippines Men’s Basketball (MBT) team becomes an active participant in the inaugural Fighting Maroons Basketball School (FMBS) offering in the mornings of July 8-13.

FMBS is the official basketball development program of State U, just launched by the UP Office for Athletics and Sports Development (OASD), which aims to create a stage for boys and girls aged 8 to 16 to demonstrate and then strengthen their skills in the spirit of the UP Fight.

To educate and inspire young talents, the current Fighting Maroons will be present at the UP Community Court on the Diliman campus on July 12.

“Siyempre, excited to play at OASD while also providing an assist in a basketball game,” said MBT head coach Goldwin Monteverde.

The Fighting Maroons are currently in the middle of their training camp in Serbia to prepare for the impending UAAP Season 87 that kicks off on September 7. Gerry Abadiano is their new team captain and is still flanked by the likes of JD Cagulangan, Harold Alarcon, and Francis Lopez, as well as exciting newcomers Jacob Bayla, Gani Stevens, and Dikachi Ududo.
