In a rare cross-border wedding, the son of a BJP leader in Uttar Pradesh married a Pakistani woman through an online ‘nikah’ amid political tensions and health concerns.

BJP corporator Tahseen Shahid arranged the marriage of his eldest son, Mohammad Abbas Haider, to Andleep Zahra from Lahore. Despite applying for a visa, Haider was unable to travel to Pakistan due to the ongoing tensions between the two countries.

Haider expressed hope that his wife would soon receive her visa for India. BJP MLC Brijesh Singh Prishu and other guests attended the ceremony to offer their congratulations.
