Unparalleled 2024 Rosters: Complete Draft Results, Team-by-Team Picks for the New Basketball League

Unparalleled is almost here. Although the first season of the groundbreaking competition doesn’t start until January, the club selection process was broadcast on Wednesday 20 November.

Unrivaled’s club selection is essentially the league’s draft, but it is not the standard draft process. As explained by the league, 34 of the 36 players were organized into groups based on their position and the league’s six head coaches worked together to create the most balanced teams. Only after the selection process did the coaches learn which team they will lead.

Two of the league’s 36 players have not yet been announced and are listed below as “Wildcard”. Rosters will be updated following the announcements of the final two players of the competition.

Who are the unparalleled wildcards?

Lunar Owls Basketball Club and Phantom Basketball Club conclude the Club Selection with five players on their respective rosters. Both teams need one more player to complete their squad. That one spot is currently listed as ‘Wildcard’.

Here’s how peerless President of Basketball Operations Luke Cooper explained the Wildcard spots during club selection:

I will talk about Pod D and the wildcard. This isn’t a content game that we’re going to release on December 15th and say, ‘Guess what Laces? You guys get an XYZ player, right? We’re going to try to fill those spots with the best players we can.

In short, it will result in two teams having the opportunity to sign someone. So they still have a chance to be really good players, but those players aren’t signed yet and could go either way. Actually, someone needs to start recruiting.

How unparalleled club selection works

Here’s how the unprecedented club selection process works, as explained by the league:

Players are organized into pods: All Unrivaled players are grouped by position into six pods, with each pod containing a variety of players. This structure ensures that the talent is balanced and that each club has a diverse range of players.

Collaborative coaching process: Our six head coaches will work together to select one player from each group for each of the six clubs. They will focus on creating well-rounded, competitively balanced rosters, while keeping an eye on exciting player combinations that fans, like you, want to see in action.

The mysterious twist: Here’s the catch: none of the coaches will know which club is theirs until all six rosters are fully established. This will ultimately ensure fairness and keep everyone on their toes.

Unrivaled features seven former No. 1 overall WNBA Draft picks, including Stewart, Aliyah Boston, Brittney Griner, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young.
