Unknown water issue causes flooding in Encino streets; LADWP investigating cause

An unknown water problem caused flooding in several streets in Encino Monday morning.

Video footage shows water spraying into the air near Hayvenhurst Avenue and Oldham Street late Sunday night.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power could not immediately determine the cause of the water problem.

As of 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, it was not yet known how many residents were affected. Also, no schedule had been announced for starting and completing the repairs.

Los Angeles Police Department officers direct traffic.
