UFC 304’s Muhammad Mokaev Reveals Manel Kape Will Be Last Fight on Contract: ‘I Have One of the Lowest Payments’

Mohammed Mokayev will have to negotiate some after his big rival clash with Manel Kape at UFC 304 this weekend (Sat., Jul 27, 2024).

The Flyweight division has since seen an influx of intriguing matchups and talent Alexander Pantoja began his reign in July 2023. One of the youngest rising stars in the mix is the undefeated 12-0 (1 no contest) Mokaev.

Mokaev, 23, was on track to break the record for youngest UFC champion and could still do so, depending on how soon he gets a shot. But first, he’ll have to make sure he stays on the list after a potential win over Kape.

“I’m in my last fight (of my deal) with UFC,” Mokaev told MMA on Sirius XM. “This is my last fight under contract, and I have to perform well to negotiate the new contract. It depends on my performance.

“I want to chase the gold and I hope the UFC signs me,” he continued. “I just want to fight for the belt. Even if they give me one more fight after this one. I have six fights. I have more finishes in the UFC. It doesn’t matter if I fight them now or if I defend the belt, I’m going to fight them anyway. I don’t care about the money. I’m getting paid by one of the lowest fighters right now and I never, ever ask for a lot for a fight and get my name out there.”

Mokaev joined the UFC in March 2022 and has wasted no time in compiling a six-fight winning streak. The Manchester, England native will get a home game for his big fight against Kape.
