Two motorcyclists die after crashing into hill near Crawford County intersection

Late Monday night, a motorcyclist crashed into a rocky hillside near Boscobel, Wisconsin, killing two motorcyclists.

According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcycle, driven by David Fillyaw, 43, of Muscoda, was traveling at a high rate of speed across a bridge over the Wisconsin River on Highway 61 and struck a rock face head-on, instead of turning onto Highway 60 at an intersection.

Fillyaw and his passenger, 42-year-old Aleisha Bell, also of Muscoda, were thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened shortly after 10pm on Monday.

After Fillyaw crossed the river heading west, her bicycle crossed both lanes of Highway 60 before hitting the hill.

Police, firefighters and the state patrol were among the agencies that responded to the scene of the accident.

Crawford County has reported three traffic fatalities this year, compared to just one last year.
