Two cases of sexual assault in TCU dorms prompt safety warnings

Texas Christian University has issued a safety alert after two incidents of sexual assault were reported in campus dormitories in recent weeks.

Campus police posted a safety bulletin in response to the two reports, one this weekend and the other about three weeks ago.

In the first incident, a third party reported that a student was sexually assaulted by a guest who was visiting another student. TCU police say this incident happened about three weeks ago at a dorm on campus.

The second incident involved a TCU student who was allegedly attacked in a dorm by another TCU student during Homecoming weekend.

The safety alert reminded students of safety practices, including guidelines on drunken consent, and emphasized that “no means no.”

TCU PD stated that they are cooperating with state and federal agencies in the ongoing investigation.

Students are encouraged to download the “FrogShield” app for instant access to campus police and take advantage of “Froggie 5-0,” a free campus escort service.
