Two arrested in July overdose death in Black Creek

OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – Two men are facing charges in connection with the overdose death of a 27-year-old man in Black Creek last summer.

The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Travis Neshek, 25, following the arrest of Cole Simon, 29, last month. Both suspects are from Black Creek.

Family members found the victim dead on July 19 in a home at 101 E. State Street. Since then, investigators have been working to identify the person who supplied the victim with fentanyl and where the drug came from.

Simon is charged with first-degree reckless homicide by drug delivery. He has a court date this week in Outagamie County. If convicted, he faces up to 60 years in prison.

Neshek is charged with four counts of manufacturing or delivering fentanyl and maintaining a drug trafficking ring. Each count of delivery of fentanyl carries a maximum of 15 years in prison, while maintaining a drug trafficking place carries 3½ years if convicted.

Neshek also faces drug charges in Fond du Lac County. He will appear in court on these charges later this month, and he will appear in Outagamie County District Court early next month on the overdose-related charges.
