Two arrested for allegedly assaulting Wilmington police officer

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Two people have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a Wilmington police officer after being pulled over on Tuesday, October 15th.

According to Wilmington police, they stopped the vehicle near the 700 block of Manly Avenue because they could not maintain the lane and asked the passenger to step outside for an outstanding warrant.

Police say the passenger, 24-year-old Latez Pollock, became combative and attacked the officer. 23-year-old driver Jaya Graham then got out and attacked the officer, police said.

Pollock was charged with felony failure to appear, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, assault on law enforcement officers and resist/delay/obstruction.

Graham was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, resist/delay/obstruction and failure to maintain lane.

Both are being held in the county jail without bond.
