Truck driver, 69, dies in accident in Jurong West

SINGAPORE – A 69-year-old truck driver was killed in an accident with another truck in Jurong West on Oct 22.

The driver of the second truck, a 45-year-old man, is assisting in the investigation, police said.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) were alerted to the accident on Neythal Road at around 1.40pm.

SCDF used hydraulic equipment to free the victim, who was pinned to his seat. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a photo posted on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, a truck with a purple hood and a shattered windshield can be seen behind a brown truck. A group of people wearing helmets surround the wreckage.
