Troy All-Stars Win Dixie Darlings World Series – The Troy Messenger

After adding two more victories on Monday, the Troy All-Stars won the Dixie Darlings Softball World Series Championship in Virginia.

Troy opened Monday morning with a 7-3 semifinal win over North Carolina. Collins Folmar went 2-for-2 with two runs and Kensley Wallace went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run. Andi Smith pitched all five innings for Troy.

Troy defeated South Carolina in the championship round by a score of 9-2. Cox led Troy at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and three runs. Wallace went 2-for-3 with two runs and Brooklyn Sasser went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Troy entered the championship round needing just one win to clinch the championship and South Carolina – who had defeated Troy earlier in the tournament – ​​had to beat Troy in back-to-back games. Troy finished the World Series undefeated as World Series Champions. The Troy All-Stars outscored their World Series opponents by a combined 38-6.
